I just received an email from my past. It was such a surprise. The flood of memories that came with it were so exciting and so much fun to relive, even for just a moment. That was when life was so easy and carefree. These were the people who helped me define me. I credit my youth group through the YMCA for all of me. These were the adults and friends that gave me the courage to be me. I learned to be self confident and strong because these people took the time to care, if even for just a moment in time. I am sure they never even understood the impact that they had on this singular life.
Over the years I have had many conversations about that time. I try to explain and then realize that it is almost indefinable. How was I so lucky to have those people cross my path exactly when I needed them? For me the answer is in the belief . God knew and he sent. Over the years I have come to know that I am where I need to be at that precise moment for that one thing. It was an eclectic mix, boys, girls, and adults all from different faiths and back grounds but all just what I needed to set me on my path.
I hope now to someday see them again and just say thank you. It is something you don't realize at the time is so important to do.
Memories are the life blood of age. The stronger they are I swear the longer we live! Mine are priceless and so precious and I thank you Emery for taking the time to find me.
Until we meet again friends!
